Planner – Utility Scale Solar Projects

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Planner to join a large-scale renewable energy project. You will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating the overall construction schedule for a utility-scale photovoltaic park, working directly with the Construction Manager and ensuring project milestones are delivered on time.
The role requires permanent on-site presence and constant interaction with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, QA/QC, HSE, and Procurement teams.
Main Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain the master construction schedule
- Create detailed short-term and long-term project plans (daily / weekly / monthly)
- Monitor critical path activities and identify schedule risks
- Support works sequencing: Civil Mechanical DC AC MV HV Commissioning
- Coordinate construction activities with procurement and logistics schedules
- Track milestone achievement and contractual deadlines
- Prepare recovery plans when delays occur
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor daily and weekly site progress against the baseline schedule
- Collect progress data from Site Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management
- Identify bottlenecks, delays, and execution risks
- Maintain project dashboards and planning updates
Subcontractor Coordination
- Coordinate schedule alignment with subcontractors and suppliers
- Monitor subcontractor productivity — planned vs. actual progress
- Ensure subcontractor activities follow approved execution sequences
- Support the Construction Manager in prioritizing site activities
Project Controls
- Support budget-related planning and resource forecasting
- Monitor manpower, equipment, and material availability against schedule needs
- Prepare look-ahead plans and resource allocation
- Support preparation of documentation for variations and claims
Candidate Profile
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction planning for industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects
- Experience in utility-scale solar projects is a significant advantage
- Strong knowledge of scheduling methodologies and construction sequencing
- Good understanding of EPC project execution
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel
Nice to Have
- Experience with Primavera P6 or MS Project
- Experience with project controls and progress measurement
- Familiarity with commissioning schedules and grid connection milestones
- Master's degree in Engineering or Project Management
