About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to oversee all civil and structural works at a utility-scale solar power plant construction site. You will ensure that earthworks, foundations, roads, drainage systems, and all civil infrastructure are executed according to design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.

The role requires permanent on-site presence and close coordination with Design, Electrical, Mechanical, QA/QC, and HSE teams.

Main Responsibilities

Civil Works Supervision

• Supervise and coordinate all civil construction activities: earthworks, grading, trenching, foundations, fencing, and access roads
• Ensure civil works are executed according to approved engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements
• Monitor daily progress of civil contractors and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to schedule and quality standards
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify work quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with design tolerances
• Coordinate pile driving and foundation works for PV mounting structures, inverter stations, and auxiliary buildings

Technical Coordination

• Review and interpret civil engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, and structural calculations
• Liaise with Design and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues, RFIs, and design changes on site
• Coordinate with Electrical and Mechanical teams to ensure proper sequencing and integration of civil works with other disciplines
• Ensure proper implementation of drainage systems, cable trenches, and underground infrastructure

Quality Assurance & Control

• Implement and monitor quality control procedures for all civil works
• Verify that materials (concrete, aggregates, steel, geotextiles) meet project specifications and approved standards
• Witness and document material testing: compaction tests, concrete cube tests, and other required inspections
• Prepare and maintain quality records, inspection reports, and as-built documentation
• Identify and report non-conformances, proposing corrective actions in coordination with the QA/QC team

Health, Safety & Environment

• Ensure all civil works are conducted in compliance with HSE regulations and company safety standards
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for civil works crews
• Identify potential hazards related to excavation, heavy equipment operation, and structural works

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports on civil works
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, resources deployed, and materials consumed
• Contribute to project close-out documentation including as-built drawings and final inspection records

Contractor Management

• Coordinate civil contractors and subcontractors, ensuring adequate resources and equipment are mobilized
• Monitor contractor performance and address any quality, safety, or schedule concerns
• Support material quantity verification and coordinate deliveries with the Warehouse and Logistics team

Candidate Profile

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in civil engineering on construction sites
• Experience in solar, energy, or infrastructure projects is preferred
• Strong knowledge of earthworks, foundations, concrete works, drainage systems, and road construction
• Familiarity with geotechnical investigations and soil mechanics principles
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, structural details, and specifications
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and relevant construction standards
• Understanding of HSE requirements in construction environments
• Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD
• Good command of English (written and spoken)
• Valid driver's license
• Availability to work full-time on-site
